Take the Car and Check Out the 3 Best Views Near Cottonwood, AZArizona is a beautiful state, but there are so many little wonders (and big wonders!) that can slip through the cracks. To help you find your new favorite place to unwind and relax, we put together a list of the best views near Cottonwood, AR.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park

Don’t let the name fool you – this park is full of lively opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. From camping cabins to hiking trails to kayaking routes, this state park will have you busy all day. The hiking trails twist through both Dead Horse State Park and the Coconino National Forest, giving you an ample opportunity to see all kinds of native flora. Just like most state parks, there is an entrance fee per vehicle.

Woodchute Mountain

With a maximum elevation of 7,860ft, this mountain has an incredible view of the surrounding desert. The Woodchute peak overlooks the Verde Valley, but there are technically two peaks in the area: Woodchute and Mingus Mountain. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, Woodchute is the taller of the two with a 2,000ft prominence. While you’re there, you’ll be able to see the old mining town of Jerome on the northeast side of the mountain.

To reach the summit you’ll have to do a little off-trail investigation because it’s a half-mile through grass and open forest. We recommend using a GPS and a map. From the top, you can walk down the other side of the mountain into Verde Valley to see the region’s famous red rock geology. We know your 2022 Jeep Gladiator Sport S 4×4 can carry a lot of cargo, but we suggest leaving the rocks in the park.

Tuzigoot National Monument

One thousand years ago, people built a hilltop pueblo that quickly became one of the largest villages in the area. These people were known as the Sinagua and are the focus of prehistoric life in central Arizona. Most of what they left behind still stands and it’s incredible to see with your own eyes.

While the pueblos are from 1,000 years ago, paleontologists have found evidence that there were people living in Verde Valley up to ten-thousand years ago. There’s a lot of rich history in this area, and we recommend you stop by if you’ve never been. Especially if you’re from the area! Stop by the Tuzigoot National Monument in Clarkdale to experience a beautiful view and piece of history.

There’s no better feeling than getting outside and staring around at the wonders of nature. We hope these 3 great views will help you reconnect with your wild side and inspire you in your everyday life. Stop by Oxendale Chrysler Dodge Jeep today so we can make sure you find a car perfect for your next scenic adventure.
