10 Favorite Activities to Enjoy at Bushmaster Park in Flagstaff, AZ Looking for some fun activities to take you outdoors into the fresh air?  With over 260 days of sunshine a year and only 68 miles from Cottonwood, you will want to add the 20-acre Bushmaster Park in Flagstaff, AZ to your list of destinations. Read on for ideas on what to do when you arrive at this municipal park.

  1. Pack a Picnic

With six picnic areas, you could meet up with friends to cook out on one of the grills or enjoy a smorgasbord of flavor. Didn’t plan ahead? Just pick up some carryout at a nearby restaurant and enjoy it at this park with ample picnic tables.

  1. Challenge a Friend to Tennis

Sharpen your tennis skills at one of the two lighted tennis courts the park has to offer visitors.  Pack your tennis racket and some balls and practice your serve. Challenge friends or family to a lively match.

  1. Organize a Volleyball Match

Bushmaster has a sand volleyball court. Bring your volleyball and some teammates to try it out. Keep in mind you’ll get gritty as you leave it all on the court. The park does contain restrooms and water fountains.

  1. Play Hoops

Night or day, you can play a pick-up basketball game at one of the two lighted basketball courts in the park. Bring your A-game and a friend or two to shoot some hoops.

  1. Skate Around

You will find both a roller-skating arena and a skate park located here. So if skating is your thing, grab your skateboard or roller skates and check out their facilities.

  1. Give Horseshoes a Try

If you have great hand-eye coordination, or just enjoy games with friends, you may be interested in the horseshoe courts. Bushmaster boasts four. So enjoy some conversation over a friendly game of horseshoes.

  1. Bring the Kids

The playground facilities at this park include swings and climbing equipment. With its different playgrounds, and its zip lines, as well as some accessible equipment, kids of all ages and abilities are sure to enjoy their time playing here.

  1. Include the Dog

The city has something for everyone at this location, including man’s best friend. Your dog is invited to its own park-within-the-park, or “bark park,” where they can go off-leash. So if the dog is itching to come along, don’t leave them behind—include them in your outing.

  1. Get Fit

The park offers an outdoor fitness area as well as walkways. Park-goers can walk or run to get their daily steps in.

  1. Plan a Party

Covered picnic pavilions (called “ramadas”) can be rented from the city for groups of 40 to 200 people. Host your party or reunion in the park by reserving one of the ramadas. Reservations are made at the City’s Aquaplex facility, which can be reached at (928) 213-2300.
