Getting Seasonal Maintenance for Your CDJR Vehicle

Regular maintenance helps protect your vehicle against wear and damage and enables it to always work at its best. Seasonal maintenance is also important, as this maintenance focuses on systems that can be affected by the change in weather. As your Chrysler dealer, we’d like to give you some tips on good maintenance practices for each of our Arizona seasons.

From Your Chrysler Dealer: Seasonal Maintenance To Keep Your Chrysler in Top Shape

Spring

Our spring is sunny, warm, and mild with spring showers. This makes it the perfect time of year to get your windshield wipers checked. Our climate can damage the wipers over time as the rubber blades become less flexible, and cracks can develop. Good wiper blades will clear that rain away and give you a good view of the road ahead.

It’s a good idea to get your air filters checked too. The cabin air filter and engine air filter can both become with dirt, sand, and other debris. A clogged engine filter can lead to problems like damaged spark plugs and reduced engine efficiency. A blocked cabin air filter causes poorer quality air in the cabin and increases wear and tear on your AC.

Summer

Our summers are milder than you’ll find in Phoenix, but the temperature can still reach 85 F to 95 F. Your car’s cooling system is designed to remove heat and maintain your engine at an efficient operating temperature. The cooling system can suffer extra strain in summer, but after a cooling system check by our expert technicians, it will work perfectly all summer long.

Speaking of heat, your AC becomes very important on hot summer days. We recommend an AC service, during which we examine all the AC components and test them to make sure they’re working at their best. We also check the refrigerant level so it will chill the air when you need it most.

Fall

Yellows and reds bathe the high-desert creeks near us, signaling the beginning of fall. The days are cooler now, which makes it a good time to get a tire check. Correct tire inflation is vital, as over or underinflated tires suffer extra wear and tear and lower your tire life. We’ll examine your tires for any signs of damage and correct the pressure if necessary.

Winter

Our winters don’t get as cold as in more northern states, but they are still cold enough to affect your battery. The average lifespan of a battery is three to five years, but our hot summers and cooler winters can reduce its life. We recommend a battery test to check it’s still in good condition. If your battery is wearing out, we advise replacing it not to prevent starting problems.
